North Augusta, SC — SRP Federal Credit Union celebrated the opening of a new museum inside its Administrative Campus on Thursday, Dec. 18, marking a significant milestone in the 65-year history of the credit union.
Founded in 1960 by a group of DuPont employees as a small institution serving the dedicated employees of the Savannah River Plant, SRP Federal Credit Union has expanded through the decades to become a trusted financial partner across the CSRA.
“Over the decades, we’ve expanded our mission, but our core values remain the same – empowering members, building financial security, and improving lives,” reads the welcome sign just inside the SRP Museum. “Step inside and explore our legacy of resilience, growth, and opportunity.”

The SRP Museum tells the story of SRP Federal Credit Union through artifacts, historical photos, interactive elements, and more. Replicas of SRP’s first ATM and black-and-white photo walls help bring the credit union’s vibrant history to life.
With a detailed historical timeline and a wall display dedicated to the impact of the SRP Affinity Debit Card Program for local schools, the SRP Museum demonstrates SRP’s longstanding commitment to the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People.”

SRP welcomed active and former members of the SRP Board of Directors, SRP leaders and team members, and guests to the museum’s unveiling ceremony, a celebration complete with a green carpet and a grand curtain reveal.
"We are thrilled to honor the rich history of SRP Federal Credit Union with this state-of-the-art museum,” said Shana Reid, Chief Development Officer of SRP. "It is not just unveiling a space, but revealing the stories, values, and people that shaped who we are."
